The National Quantum & Dark Matter Road Trip has reached thousands of Australians in 2026.

Road trippers travelled 3,085km across Tasmania, visiting 17 schools and holding public events throughout the state.

Pop up events were also held in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, sharing the joy of science across the country!

A total of 1,746 people attended school or public events during the National Science Week road trip in August, while 357,000 listeners heard scientists talk about quantum and dark matter science and the road trip on ABC Radio.

Thank you to the 26 scientists who led demonstrations, gave inspiring and informative public talks and visited schools during the event.

The road trip organising committee is now planning where we will visit in 2027!
